Search Engine Optimization
SEO Services: what is covered, how we work and what you see each month
SEO is the work of making your website easy for search engines to crawl, understand and trust, and making its pages the best answer to what your customers type into Google and Bing. Where those customers are, from a few kilometres away to all of India or another country, is a strategy decision we make with you.

Awards and Recognition
In short
SEO services are the ongoing work of fixing what stops a site from being found, building the pages and signals that make it worth showing, and measuring what that brings in. At The Adroit that covers on-page, technical, off-page and local SEO.
No ranking is promised, because nobody controls one. How fast things move depends on your site, your competition and its history, and we say what we are doing each month so you can judge it.
- Where you need to be found is decided by strategy, not by where your office is
- An 18-step process, grouped into five phases
- Changes made on your WordPress, PHP or Ruby site by our team
- Monthly report, then a review of next month’s priorities
The scope
What SEO services actually cover
Agencies describe SEO in very different ways, which makes quotes hard to compare. This is how we divide the work and what you can expect to see from each part.
| Area | What it involves | Where the work happens | What you see |
|---|---|---|---|
| Technical SEO | Crawlability, indexing, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonicals, Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, broken links, duplicate content, JavaScript rendering. | Code, templates, server settings, Search Console. | A prioritised fix list, then fixes shipped and re-crawled. |
| On-page SEO | Titles, meta descriptions, headings, content structure, search-intent alignment, internal links, images, URLs, FAQs. | The pages themselves, in your CMS or templates. | Updated pages, new pages where there is a gap, a cleaner structure. |
| Content and structured data | New and improved content, consolidation of thin pages via merges, redirects or canonicals, schema such as Organization, Service, Article, FAQ, Breadcrumb. | Your content library and page templates. | Fewer weak pages, clearer topical coverage, eligibility for rich results. |
| Off-page SEO | Link building, outreach, guest articles, digital PR, blogger outreach, listings and submissions. Quality and relevance over link count. | Other websites and platforms. | A monthly record of placements and mentions secured. |
| Local SEO | Location pages, localised content, consistent business information, location-specific intent. | Location pages, business profiles, listings. | Pages and profiles that match how people search near them. |
| Measurement | Google Analytics, Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools setup, conversion tracking, index monitoring. | Your analytics and webmaster accounts. | A monthly report in the first week of each month. |
Two things are deliberately kept separate from this scope: paid search, covered under PPC services, and visibility inside AI-generated answers, which has its own page at GEO and AIO services.
How an engagement runs
The 18 steps, grouped into five phases
Every engagement uses the same 18 steps. The early ones set the baseline; the later ones repeat each month as we measure and adjust.

Honest cost drivers
What makes SEO cost more or less
We do not publish prices, because two sites with the same page count can need very different amounts of work. We quote after reviewing your site. These eight factors move the effort, so you can sanity-check any quote, ours included.
Site size and complexity
A 20-page brochure site and a catalogue with thousands of pages need different audits, templates and monitoring.
Current technical health
Crawl errors, slow templates and duplicate content must be fixed before content work pays off.
Competition in your market
Crowded categories need more content depth and more authority work to be visible at all.
Content needed
Writing new pages, rewriting weak ones and consolidating overlaps is often the largest effort.
Off-page ambition
Outreach, guest articles and digital PR take effort per placement; quality costs more than bulk.
Geographies and languages
Each target market or language version needs its own pages, information and monitoring.
Platform and release process
Direct CMS access is quick; a formal release process takes more coordination.
Site history
Past migrations, drops or low-quality links can mean clean-up before growth work.
Be careful of any quote that lists a fixed number of keywords or links as the deliverable. Counting activity is easy; whether it helps your business is the harder question.
Who does the work
In-house team, agency or a mix
In-house SEO
Works when content and product change constantly and there is enough work for a specialist.
Watch for one person rarely covering technical, content and outreach equally; tools add cost.
Agency
Works when you want technical, content and authority skills together without hiring for each.
Watch for reports that count activity, and agencies that cannot touch your site.
Hybrid
Works when your team owns content and product knowledge while we handle audits, technical work, structure and reporting.
Watch for unclear ownership; we agree up front who edits what.
What we work with
Our SEO Toolkit
Established tools for crawling, research, tracking and reporting support the analysis; the judgement on what to fix first is ours.

Questions
FAQs
SEO services cover the work that helps a website get found and chosen in search results: a technical audit and fixes, keyword and competitor research, on-page changes to titles, headings and content, content creation and clean-up, structured data, link building and authority work, local SEO where relevant, and monthly reporting. The scope table on this page shows each area, where the work happens and what you receive.
Technical SEO makes the site easy to crawl, index and use, including speed and mobile behaviour. On-page SEO shapes each page, from its title and headings to its content and internal links. Off-page SEO builds authority through links, mentions and placements on other sites. Local SEO adds location pages, business information and signals for people searching near a place. Most sites need all four in some proportion.
No. We group the steps into five phases: diagnose, fix and structure the site, links and content, local and structured data, and authority and reporting. The audit and research come first because they set priorities. After that, steps such as monitoring, content, link building and reporting repeat, so each month builds on the last.
Yes, where we have access. Whether the site is on WordPress, PHP or Ruby, our team carries out the page, template, schema and speed edits itself, so recommendations do not sit waiting. On a WordPress or other CMS site we need admin access. On a custom codebase we agree a release route with your team before work starts.
A monthly SEO performance report in the first week of the month, built in Looker Studio, followed by a review of priorities for the coming month with your team. It covers organic traffic, keyword rankings, impressions, clicks and click-through rate, organic conversions, landing-page performance, technical progress, content performance and backlink activity.
There is no honest single answer. It depends on the state of your site, how competitive your market is and the history behind the domain, such as past migrations or low-quality links. Fixing blocked crawling or broken pages can show up sooner than building authority in a crowded category. What we commit to is the work done each month and a report that shows what moved and what did not.
Site size and complexity, current technical health, how competitive your market is, how much content must be written or consolidated, the amount of off-page work, the number of target geographies or languages, and how changes are released on your platform. We quote after reviewing the site, so the price reflects your situation rather than a standard plan.
No, and be wary of anyone who does. Search engines decide rankings, and they change how they decide. What we control is the quality of the audit, the fixes, the content and the outreach, and the honesty of the reporting. Our reports show measured results as they happen and never a number promised in advance.
More questions (6)
It depends on how quickly you need enquiries and how long you can wait. PPC delivers visibility as soon as campaigns run and stops when the spend does. SEO builds more slowly and tends to hold its gains. Many businesses use PPC for urgent terms while SEO builds up. See our PPC services page for the paid side.
An in-house person suits companies with constant content and product change and enough work to fill the role. An agency suits those who want technical, content and outreach skills together without hiring for each. A hybrid works well when your team owns product knowledge and content while we handle audits, technical work and reporting. We can work in any of these shapes.
Yes, and earlier is better. Before launch we crawl the current site, map old URLs to new ones, carry over titles and structured data, and plan redirects, sitemaps and Search Console. After launch we check for blocked crawling, lost metadata and broken templates. If the rebuild is also needed, our website development team can do it with the SEO groundwork included.
We would start by finding the cause before changing anything. A fall can come from technical errors, a site change, content problems, a tracking fault or a search-engine update, and each needs a different response. We audit, separate the causes, fix what is fixable and tell you plainly what is outside anyone’s control. We cannot promise a recovery.
The foundations overlap: a crawlable site, clear content, structured data and a recognisable brand across the web help in both. Visibility inside AI-generated answers has its own tactics and measurement, so we handle it as a separate service called GEO and AIO. Our entity analysis and structured data work in SEO feed it directly.
Not unless that is where your buyers are. Where our team sits and where your SEO is aimed are separate decisions. Our head office is in Navi Mumbai and we have teams in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, but a client may need to rank for “near me” searches, for their own city, for another city or state, for all of India or for an overseas market, and sometimes for more than one at once. Research into what you sell and where demand is decides the keyword universe, site structure and content plan. We work with clients across India remotely.

Where you are, and where you need to rank, are two different things
Where you are, and where you need to rank, are two different things
Start here
A business in Navi Mumbai may need to win “near me” searches within a few kilometres, or buyers across all of India, or in another country altogether. Your location tells us where we meet you. The SEO target is decided by what you sell and where your buyers are, and the strategy follows from that.
- Local pack and “near me”Shops, clinics, restaurants and services that win customers within a few kilometres: business profile, location pages and local signals.
- Your own cityCity-wide services and showrooms: city intent in the keyword universe, pages built around the areas you serve.
- Another city or stateYou sit in one place, your buyers in another: location pages or a single strong page, decided by demand, not by where you are.
- All of IndiaEcommerce, software, education and B2B: national keyword sets, topical depth and authority building across the whole site.
- InternationalCountry or language targeting for export and SaaS businesses, with hreflang only when it is actually relevant.
Keyword universe
Which queries, questions and places are in scope, and which are not.
Site structure
Location pages, a single page per service, or both, decided by demand.
Content plan
What to write, improve or merge so the site covers its topics properly.
Authority building
Links and mentions that are relevant to the geography being targeted.
Local signals
Business information, profiles and localised content, only where local matters.
Measurement
Rankings and traffic tracked for the markets that were actually chosen.
Strategy decides all six. The city pages linked at the bottom of this page describe the team near you, not a promise to rank you in that city.
The SEO wheel: from website analysis to the monthly report
The SEO wheel: from website analysis to the monthly report
The engagement at a glance
The wheel shows the eleven strands an engagement draws on, from the first website analysis and keyword research through on-page work, link building and submissions to the monthly report. The phases above give the order; the wheel gives the whole shape.
We make the changes on WordPress, PHP and Ruby sites ourselves
We make the changes on WordPress, PHP and Ruby sites ourselves

Hands on the site
Many SEO reports end with recommendations that wait weeks for a developer. We build and maintain websites as well, so on-page, technical, content, structured-data and performance changes are implemented directly on your site. SEO-specific content creation and on-page updates are part of the work.
| Your site runs on | Typical SEO changes we make | What we need from you |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress | Titles and descriptions, heading and content edits, internal links, redirects, sitemaps, schema, image handling, caching and speed fixes. See WordPress development services. | WordPress admin access. |
| PHP | Template-level meta and canonical fixes, URL routing and redirects, structured data output, pagination, rendering and performance. See PHP development services. | Codebase or CMS access and an agreed release route. |
| Ruby on Rails | View and layout changes for meta data and headings, routes and redirects, sitemap generation, schema, page-speed work. See Ruby on Rails services. | Codebase or CMS access and an agreed release route. |
| Another CMS or custom build | The same list, adapted to what the platform allows. If a change is not possible, we say so and give the nearest workable option. | CMS access, or a developer contact on your side. |
If the site needs a rebuild rather than fixes, that is a separate web project; our website development services cover it, with the SEO groundwork built in from the start.
The monthly report, and what is in it
The monthly report, and what is in it
What you receive
Reporting is monthly. The report arrives in the first week of each month through Looker Studio, and a review of priorities for the next month follows with your team. No daily or weekly dashboards: movements over a few days are mostly noise.
- Organic traffic
- Keyword rankings tracked
- Impressions, clicks, CTR
- Organic conversions
- Landing-page performance
- Technical progress: fixed and remaining
- Content performance
- Backlink activity and placements
A figure appears in the report because it was measured, never because it was targeted in advance.
SEO or PPC, and when to use both
SEO or PPC, and when to use both
Two search channels
Both put you in front of people who are already searching. The right split depends on how fast you need enquiries and how long you can wait for them.
| SEO | PPC | |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Builds gradually; pace depends on site, competition and history. | Starts as soon as a campaign is approved and live. |
| What you pay for | The work: fixes, content and authority. No per-click charge. | Media spend per click or impression, plus management. |
| When you stop | Gains tend to persist, with upkeep as competitors move. | Visibility stops when spend stops. |
| Best suited to | Steady demand, informational searches, authority over time. | Launches, offers, seasonal pushes, testing demand quickly. |
Many businesses run both: paid search covers the urgent terms while SEO builds the pages that eventually carry some of that traffic. Our PPC services page explains the paid side in full.
When SEO is not the right first move
When SEO is not the right first move
A straight answer
SEO is a sound investment for many businesses, but not every business and not at every moment. Consider something else first if:
- You need enquiries this week. Paid search is faster; SEO can follow.
- A redesign or migration is about to happen. Plan the SEO inside that project.
- Nobody searches for what you sell yet. Awareness channels may come first.
- The site has no clear way to enquire or buy. Fix conversion before adding visitors.
- The offer is not settled. SEO builds pages around a stable offer.
- Nobody can approve content or give access. SEO stalls when the site cannot change.
SEO and AI-generated answers
SEO and AI-generated answers
Beyond ten blue links
People now get answers from AI assistants and AI summaries on results pages as well as from lists of links. The groundwork overlaps heavily with SEO: a crawlable site, clear content, structured data and a recognisable brand. Our entity analysis (step 2) and structured data work (step 15) feed this directly.
Visibility inside AI answers has its own tactics and measurement, so we handle it as a separate service: GEO and AIO services.
Migrations, redesigns and traffic drops
Migrations, redesigns and traffic drops
Special situations
Some SEO work is not routine growth. In these situations we start with a narrower, more urgent piece of work.
Before a redesign or migration
Crawl the current site, map old URLs to new, keep titles and structured data, plan redirects before launch.
After a launch that went wrong
Check for blocked crawling, missing redirects, lost metadata and broken templates; fix in order of impact.
A sudden fall in organic traffic
Separate technical causes, content changes, tracking faults and search-engine updates before changing anything.
Low-quality links or spam
Review the link profile and any injected pages, clean what can be cleaned, rebuild the signals that matter.
A domain or platform change
Redirects, canonicals, sitemaps and Search Console set up before the switch so equity carries over.
We cannot promise a recovery. We can find the cause, fix what is fixable and tell you plainly what is outside our control.
